Edwards: Give a Major Speech Attacking Cheney!

A lot of people have been asking for John Edwards to be more nationally visible, and while I appreciate the retail politicking he does, I agree it would help the ticket for him to be getting more national media coverage. So here's an idea:

Have Edwards deliver a major speech focused entirely on the case against Dick Cheney. (If you like this idea, recommend the diary so we can get it out there.)

Yes, it's negative, and no, it's not about health care or the economy. Except that it is about health care and the economy and foreign policy and energy policy and more. Dick Cheney is the most powerful vice president in US history, and also possibly the worst. His record of publicly lying (about Iraq, Al Qaeda and more) and his conflicts of interest are horrendous and a great detriment to the country. He is, in fact, a much easier target than George Bush, a much less popular one, and an entirely relevant one, given his power. So let's shine a big fat light onto this man's horrific record-- don't let him get away with the lying little comments that the administration is careful to keep Bush from saying.

Having Edwards go after the VP would seem entirely appropriate; would be sure to get some national coverage; would follow right on the heels of Dick's widely-reviled "terrorists want Kerry" comment; would fit into the "Kerry campaign gets more aggressive" meme, a plus, I think; and would get Edwards into the national spotlight. So Edwards: Please Attack Cheney!
