I have a frivolous interest in what results dictate dropping out for the different candidates. I'm starting this diary to get thoughts on the matter. Nothing serious or substantive; just some horse-race speculation.

My thoughts:

Dean will be in this for a while. Without a big surprise, I assume he's in this till March at least.

Clark is in it until at least 2/3. Even if he has a disappointing finish in NH.

Then there's the rest. If Edwards finishes fourth in Iowa and NH, does he drop out before SC? How badly must Kerry do to drop out before 2/3? Or will he simply refuse? Ditto for Lieberman (though I'm assuming he hangs in till 2/3, then drops out if he hasn't won anything). I assume that Kucinich, Sharpton and Braun will hang in till the money lasts. I see them dropping out in the reverse of that order, sometime in late January or in February.

Thoughts?
