Is dKos Porn? dailykos.com blocked in SF

Mon Sep 24, 2007 at 08:13:38 PM PDT

Lap top in hand, on my lap actually, I tried to log into a free wifi hot spot called "Metreon" at the SF Metreon today and I got blocked when I tried to go to www.dailykos.com. No problem with FreeRepublic or with other blogs, but couldn't get to www.dailykos.com, nor to www.sex.com for that matter either.

Who decides these things?

Poll: Who does Hillary remind you of?

Mon Aug 20, 2007 at 09:11:26 AM PDT

Is she Paul Tsongas? Bill Bradley? Pat Schroeder?

I'm trying to think about Hillary Clinton, the presidential candidate, in terms of style, character, personality and comparing her to Democratic candidates of yore. If she were just another politician and not the first female front runner or a former first lady how would she compare?

Gender aside, what pre-2008 Democratic presidential candidate is Hillary Clinton most similar to?

Feel free to add more in the comments, the polling system limits the number of possibilities I could suggest.

The Literal Fundamental Truth

Tue Jan 23, 2007 at 10:38:21 AM PDT

I often wonder how our friends on the religious right manage to maintain a belief in Biblical literalism, that the world was created in 7 days, that the Grand Canyon must created by the Great Flood a few thousand years ago etc...

I ask myself how is that a printed translation of someone else's translation of someone else's translation of some really old stories written a long time ago in an ancient language could be viewed as literal truth.

Where does this idea of "literal truth" come from?

UK Election adverts - Just brilliant!

I wouldn't normally post this sort of thing but these political "adverts" from Channel 4 in the UK are just brilliant satire. You'll enjoy this.

I'd love to see a Democratic vs. Republican version of this. Perhaps Jon Stewart could do this sort of thing.
