I've seen a million posts by liberals at this site about how Terry Shaivo should be allowed to die. People are saying because if they were in that position they'd want to die, that Terry wants to die. It's not that simple people. What if Terry wants to live and the husband wants her to die so he can move on and marry someone else, gain a new family and move on with his life? He cannot do this if theres a chance she can be brought back to life without feeling guilty.

Most people who have an opinion about this case know nothing about the case. All of the family members except the husband want to keep Terry alive, and everyone ignores this in favor of the husband? Marriage in my opinion is not sacred anymore. It has not been sacred since divorce became popular. If Terry Schiavo's husband were willing to take a stand  and never marry another woman, then I'd consider supporting his case to allow her to die. If he is willing to kill that side of himself then he can make the case to allow her to die. However if hes going to marry someone else then you have to question why he is fighting to hard to allow her to die.

Stop falling for wedge politics. People here are going out of their way to make this into a Democrats vs Republicans issue, falling right into the wedge trap. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue, its not even a political issue. When you make it a political issue then you are deciding that the government should be involved in this issue.

This is a cultural issue pure and simple, and it will be decided by the courts, not the politicians.

Critical mass radio, Indy media, and others. Stop saying theres no progressive media. Stop saying the radio is owned by conservatives. There are plenty of radio stations which speak directly to progressive audiences every day. Here is a list of URLs.

Please check it out, tune in, these people are progressives just like you, they filter out the information and present it in a perspective you can relate to and understand. Forget about the government controlled TV and get your news directly from the people.

Currently, people are having meetups, but instead of meetups how about we build software which helps assemble smart mobs?

Cellphones, PDAs, Wifi, everything is in place. Now for the software, we need software which can match people of the same political ideology and alert them both when there are other people in the same area of their ideology.

This would allow smart mobs. This would help with meetups greatly as people will be able to approach people offline a lot easier. This kind of software already exists in Japan as dating software, but I think we all know that politics are more important than dating.

So who is willing to try and build a new generation of smart mob social software? A portable friend finder sounds like it could be useful for offline organizing.

In my previous diary titled Peer to Peer Distributed Social Networking I explained what networks are, how they work and how we influence them.

Now that we have an idea as to what they are, we need to actually start building social software.

We could start with something like jobster.

Transnational Civil Societies are networks which span accross the globe. How big is the global progressive network and how well do progressives communicate with each other globally? The technology allows for a much higher degree of communication and coordination between social networks.

Republicans actually are socialist. In fact Republicans are the most socialist political party in America at this time.

Republicans are socialist because they believe in corporate socialism. They believe corporations must be tyrannies. They are against Democracy. Under Republicans work place Democracy has decreased and will continue to decrease as Walmart style tyranny businesses gain government support. The government supports these businesses just as a socialist government supports its businesses. The government provides state protections, bailouts of all sorts, tax exeptions, and many other forms of corporate socialism.

Market discipline is perfect for workers who are forced to learn responsibility, but for corporate owners there is no responsiblity socially or personally. Corporations under Republicans are actually encouraged to be irresponsible and to avoid all social responsibility in favor of profit.

My advice for anyone here or in Asia. Don't eat any pigs or birds. If you must eat something, find any other food. Kos should definately cover this story on the front page. I'm not sure why the community is ignoring the whole flu situation which could end up being a worldwide outbreak.

Recently Arnold has launched the war on the junk food industry. I say this is a very good move. These companies are selling poisons to our kids, all of us. Not just Republican kids or Democrat kids, and this is the type of action which actually could win Arnold votes from progressives.

Currently, the USA seems to have the lowest quality food supply of any nation on the planet. Many people talk about being strong on secuity, or strong on defense, or how security is important. How secure is our food?

Our food is only as secure as food companies want them to be. So currently there are poisons in most of our foods, our water supply, etc.

Lets look at our leading causes of death.

Heart Disease: 696,947

Cancer: 557,271

Stroke: 162,672

Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 124,816

Heart diseases is the number 1 cause of death in America. Why? Because our food is the lowest quality least secure food products on planet earth.

Our life expectancy is 77 yeats. Other countries like Japan and places in the EU have much higher life expectancies.

Why is our life expectancy so low? We have put deadly products in our food supply for profit. High Fructose Corn Syrup is perhaps the single most toxic substance in our food supply. It is the substance which is causing heart disease and diabetes. There are other substances which are also toxic such as Dextrose, Maltidextrin, Lactose, Aspartame, etc.

In a time where everyone is fighting to find a Job, or fighting to keep jobs in America, there are still people who feel like we need an unlimited supply of cheap slave labor.

Illegal Immigrants are part of the problem not part of the solution. Immigration by itself is not a bad thing when there are more jobs than people, but currently in the USA there are more people than jobs. What happens in a country filled with more people than jobs? Crime rises, people go on welfare, people go to prison, and organize crime benefits. When you invite illegal immigrants, you lose security. Any illegal immigrant you invite could be a potential terrorist sent by Bin Laden himself. Any illegal immigrant which comes here looking for a better life is robbing an American looking for a better life.

We have to get Chris Rock to write speeches for the Democratic party. The Gap metaphor for the war with Iraq was pure genius. He basically summed up the entire re-election and the war in a couple of metaphors, and they were funny metaphors at that which people are likely to remember.

I suggest all who are interested in framing actually study some of his speeches. If the Democratic party could find 4 more Chris Rocks to either host a weekly political news show or to write speeches, I don't think the Republican party with all its linguists could beat metaphors with humor.

I think Chris Rock, Jon Stewert and Bill Maher set the example of how progressives can take control of the debate. Use humor.

Are there any banks which are known to be progressive? The way to influence business is to learn to manipulate capital. We need progressive banks if there are any and we need to get accounts at these banks.

We need ideas. We need progressives to start more businesses and hire each other. We need a progressive alternative to Walmart and to lots of other companies. Are we prepared to buy from these companies should they be started?

Before you can take your country back you have to take your money back.

Putin seems to want to go back to communism with Democracy, Bush is talking about how important the constitution is. WHAT ABSOLUTELY BULLSHIT!

Can't anyone actually see through these lies?  Honestly I don't see how the USA is any more free than Russia. Perhaps it was, but it's not anymore. Putin mentioned the government controlled press. This is interesting. So whats the point of this all?
